Sight feels worse after gogs!

So a few months ago I went to specsavers for a routine eye test. No reason other than my last appointment was 6 years ago!
I thought my eyes was fine - they however prescribed reading glasses and admittedly I do see better in my reading glasses - however my general eyesight suddenly feels so much worse!! Is this normal?!

Do you mean that you see better when you're reading but then when you're just walking around wearing the same glasses, you don't see as well? If so, that's normal - reading glasses are just for close up things like reading so the prescription won't be right for your distance/intermediate vision.

Or do you mean that you feel like your eyesight's now worse even when you're not wearing glasses at all? That's a less obvious issue, but I do think that often when people start wearing glasses they simply notice the contrast between their 'normal' vision and and the pin-sharp vision they get from their glasses. I used to be the opposite to you in that I didn't need reading glasses but I did need glasses for distances, but I found I often ended up wanting to put them on for reading and close-up work even though they weren't for that at all, because I'd got used to focusing through them and the general clarity of sight I got from glasses.

So it might be more of a perception thing than an actual eyesight issue.
