Hypochondriac or is there something seriously wrong? (Pregnancy)

I'm 32 weeks pregnant and convinced I'm starting to get pre eclampsia, helllp syndrome or similar, but keep getting brushed off at medical appointments. For anyone who's suffered with this, do these symptoms sound normal?

Before getting pregnant my blood pressure was always around 110/70. I have an at home BP monitor and for the last few weeks its sat at around 137/90 and my pulse is always 100-120 even at rest. But I keep getting told that's its not that alarming. I have urine dipsticks at home, and the protein marker always changes colour round the edges but not the middle, at appointments I'm told it's clear.

I have severe reflux/heartburn/indegestion that isnt relieved with 40mg omeprazole or antacids. I'm barely eating now, perhaps some toast and a jacket potato every day and not much more. I've been randomly throwing up since I got into the third trimester too, almost like my first trimester sickness is back and at night I've been woken up with pain in my right rib though the baby feels quite low.

Severe all over itching 24/7 for the last three weeks not relieved by cream or antihistamines. I got checked for cholostasis and the results came back normal.

Very little urine output despite drinking lots of water. I drink around three litres of water a day and just a trickle comes back out, but I have no signs of a urine infection (urine tests always come back clear and no pain/burning)

I feel so unwell 24/7, terrible constant hungover feeling. I can barely function and don't know how I'll get through the next few weeks. It really feels like there's something wrong and its brushed off because my BP 'isn't in the danger zone'.

Please please go and get a second opinion. I had similar BP and was put on beta blockers and diagnosed with gestational hypertension. I was told the threshold for this was lower number greater than 85. Go to maternity triage today. X

Agree with above , rung maternity triage and say what your home BP is
RCOG guidelines say systolic > 140 or diastolic > 90 could indicate pre eclampsia so def ring now and ask

FelicityBennett · 13/05/2025 16:14

Ring I mean ! Should be a number in your maternity notes you can ring

I'd go to the maternity hospital now and get a second opinion. All of that sounds worrying and not normal at all.

Your bloody pressure when pregnant can't be measured using an electronic BP monitor (unless it's calibrated properly), you need to do it manually due to the increased blood volume I believe - I'm not a HCP - I'd still go for a second opinion.

Keep going back OP, trust your gut and get another opinion
