Any peonies about in the supermarket?

is it peony season and has anyone spotted any affordable cut peonies in the supermarkets?

The only ones I have seen have been in M and S. Not cheap though… £20 for a large bouquet… looked gorgeous . They had a smaller bunch of about 5/6 stems but didn’t notice the price.

It's just about the start of commercial peony season if my memory is correct (been out of the flower game for a long time, but think we used to get them in about mid-May to end of June - it's a very specific and short season in terms of commercial flowers)

Edited to add the Peony 'Duchesse de Nemours' has the greatest scent of any flower in my book if you can find it as a cut flower.

Have seen in Tesco and Waitrose in the last few days.

Bought a bunch in Sainsbury’s this evening. Six quid.

Not the question but I’m excited that my lovely garden peony went from lots of bulbs to 1 full flower over the course of Saturday and then another 5 opened yesterday!

Bought a bunch in waitrose about a week ago (3rd May). I think they were a tenner and 5 in the bunch. Schiaparelli pink and looked glorious.
