Fury - re Womens spaces/EA/Darlington Nurses

I'm so bloody angry & sad.

The Equality Act 2010, as clarified by the Supreme Court in 2025, was specifically and purposely written so we could have specific single sex spaces where needed.

Women and girls are subject to much male violence incluing sexual violence - both at home, work & out in the wider world. Men are the perpetrators of the vast majority of such violent acts to women and girls.

We cannot tell from looking which men are harmful - men don't have mysognist, rapist or violent man tattoed on their foreheads.

We also know that men with a trans identity are, as a group, significantly more likely to be in jail for a sex offence than the rest of the male prison population.

When the EA2010 was written this threat to women and our need to have space away from men was acknowledged and womens spaces were provided for and protected.

It can be hugely traumatising for victims of male violence to go about their day, their jobs etc.

And now we are reading of the most horrendous sexual abuse suffered by Karen Danson as a child.

Karen's employers - an NHS Trust - not only forced her to change and share female facilities with a man, once she was in a dispute with her employer about their law breaking policy, the NHS scheduled the same man to be in the theater when she was unconscious & having a very serious medical procedure.

The same NHS declared her a bigot for objecting.

One of the reasons we have these single sex spaces is so women and girls who are survivors of male violence are not further retraumatised by sharing spaces with men, epsecially where they might be vulnerable.

No one should have to disclose the dreadful crimes perpetrated against them, the violence they have suffered, in order to access spaces they are legally entitled to access.

Spaces that have been carved out for them, that entitled men have sought to take from themselves cause they have "ladyfeels" & "ladydick".

Karen Danson is exceptionally brave in sharing her story - but she should not have to do it. We know millions of women/girls are survivors of male violence - again no one can tell from looking and women should never have to disclose this infomation to access their basic rights.

The law is there for all women/girls & Karen & other women should not have to go through this horrendous process to access what they are legally entitled to access.

As for idiots like GLP, TRA's and others who are fighting to get men into womens spaces - there are no words (well none I can express on MN).

AIBU to be so bloody furious.

My understanding is that a formal dispute was already underway between these two staff members, which makes an obvious direct conflict of interest for ‘Rose’ to be performing intimate procedures on Karen against her express wishes. The fact that ‘Rose’ insisted on his right to be involved in this intimate operation is extremely sinister to me. The NHS’s decision to make it all about the right of ‘Rose’ to persist in his apparent entitlement to access Karen’s operation is beyond extreme. And that’s before we get to how Rose identifies and the rest of the allegedly intimidating behaviour towards women.

Devilsmommy · 12/05/2025 16:19

It's an absolute disgrace that she had to go through all of that and then get told she's a transphobic bigot and threatening to not do the operation because of that twats feelings😡 he's a sexual predator with a gynae fetish. No woman would want to be any way vulnerable with him anywhere near. That NHS trust is disgusting and I so hope they eventually have to pay for their awful actions to all the women there

Turfaccountant · 12/05/2025 16:37

This is in my town...Rosalie as he likes to call himself has a father who has also worked for the health service...the father is in court next month on historical child sex abuse charges. This is giving hints of the Challoners.

katmarie · 12/05/2025 16:52

I find it so hard to know what to do with the anger and frustration I have around all of this. I just have this impotent rage at the way women have been treated by these awful men, and the NHS backing them to. I think Karen is an incredible woman, who should never have been put in the position she is now in.

RobinEllacotStrike · 12/05/2025 17:07

Exactly @katmarie - I've been argry & upset about the attack on womens rights for years, but this feel so much more devestating and low.

Karen bravely told her story so very publiscally - she should enver have had to go through this, the law is supposed to protect her from this. Yes the BE KIND lot don't care at all.

How about BE KIND to Karen?
How about BE KIND to all victims of male violence?
How about BE KIND to woman and girls in general?

Yes these women are attacked.
Called bigots for asking their employer to uphold their rights!

I hope that this particular NHS Trust are declaared unfit for purpose and the entire management team behind this cascade of violating decisions are all fired and rendered unemployable. They are all a massive danger to women and girls.

I'm furious.

I can't get that Germaine Greer quote out of my head - its not just men who hate women, but other women, the NHS, our bloody government ....

It is absolutely disgraceful that the Trust were prepared to cancel her surgery just to spare his feelings. Tough shit about hers.

I read in that article that he is in a relationship with a woman and is trying for a family, so in all intents and purposes is acting like a man outside of work. What the hell?!

Seriously, when is this shit going to end. It’s gone too far!!

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 12/05/2025 17:22

I just cannot fathom the actions of the NHS trust.

On what planet would it be appropriate for "rose"'to be involved in poor Karen's surgery?!!!

I mean possibly if he was the only surgeon available but as far as I understand it "rose" is just some kind of technician and easily substituted.

That they would threaten to cancel the surgery rather than just roster a different staff member on is beyond belief.

RobinEllacotStrike · 12/05/2025 17:24

Being a man is immutable - regarless of ladyfeels he is a man at work, at home, in the street, in the supermarket, in the toilet - everywhere. He's a man man man and will be forever.

Every NHS Trust in the land can let him into female changing rooms and he'll still be a man.

Born a boy, he'll die a man.

In 1000 years if they dig up his bones guess what they will find? Male bones.

MAN now & forever.

"I just cannot fathom the actions of the NHS trust."

One day I really hope we get to the bottom of the decision making processes invovled in the NHS deciding to eliminate womens single sex spaces.

In fact we need to get to the bottom of this.

I was also reading about a Trust’s new measures in maternity services and in the spiel it says birthing mothers and birthing people. FFS. If you’re pushing a baby out of your nether regions, you’re a woman and a mother!

The level of infiltration and brainwashing is unbelieveable - it feels very kafkaesque that our state instutions adopted so many anti-women policies.

Every human who ever took breath was grown and birthed by a WOMAN.
Yes we can be erased, like we aren't important at all.

No women more and more women are saying #NoThankYou re having kids.

Why is it down to individual women to force our govement departments and publically funded health service NHS to stop abusing them and comply with the UK law???
