My husband's friend does OTT hugd

My husband's friend has started hugging me when we meet very tightly and pressing my breasts in to his chest. It's not what I would call a bear hug and just doesn't feel comfortable and quite pervy. I told me husband and he seemed to think it was funny which has really annoyed me. Am I being unreasonable?

Why not tell the guy himself to stop? What do you want your husband to do about it?

andweallloveclover · 08/05/2025 22:06

Most proper hugs that anyone gives you like that, then your breasts are going to press into their chest if they hug you tightly. Male or female.

If you don't like it, swerve it next time he comes to hug you. Or just tell him that you would rather not.

Bloodylovecheese · 08/05/2025 22:09

When he squeezes too tight, knee him in the bollocks, and say it's a spontaneous 'reflex' reaction which couldn't be helped 🤣

ToKittyornottoKitty · 08/05/2025 22:10

Just don’t hug him

This sounds horrible, and your husband sounds useless.

If he comes at you for a hug, can you put your arm out in front in a stop gesture to stop him?

Pillarsofsalt · 08/05/2025 22:22

ew No hugs today thanks Jeremy.

ILoveMyCaravan · 08/05/2025 22:30

My husbands creepy friend used to do this. He only did it once, from then on, as soon as he walked in the house I would turn and walk away from him. He soon got the message.

YABU if you haven't said "Oi Dave, what's with the bear hugging? Ease off a bit"

Why is the husband useless when the OP hasn't told him off for hugging her?

Ah, so it’s the woman’s fault 🙄

candycane222 · 08/05/2025 22:39

I had to tell DHs friend not to kiss me on the mouth 🤢🤢. He blustered away a bit "oh did I? I didn't think I did" (🤨🤨) etc but problem solved.

DH was vague and a bit disengaged when I told him, but at least he didn't laugh. That would really have pissed me off.

So - your job to tell pervy bear to desist, but I would personally be giving stern words to your husband about his dismissal of your discomfort and annoyance.

Don't try to twist other people's words.

The OP has asked if she's being unreasonable.

I didn't say it was her fault that he's doing this. I said she is being unreasonable if she hasn't told him to stop.

Loads of people simply wouldn’t have to confidence to do this though. It’s not unreasonable to struggle to stick up for yourself in this situation. It’s unreasonable of her to be putting her in this situation.
