London's got 17C today. We've got 12C up north. Tommrow, We've got 18C. It was 12C down south on Sunday. Might not put heating on tonight. But it's so cold. So for where you are, when is it gonna start warming up.

We’re in the north and it’s 16
today, going up to the 20’s at the weekend

BethDuttonYeHaw · 08/05/2025 16:59

I’m in Scotland.

It might get up to 19C next weekend.

I’ve still got my heating on just now.

andtheworldrollson · 08/05/2025 17:03

More pertinent is when might it rain

lack of rain will drive up food costs , lead to water restrictions, cause subsidence

it’s not especially cold for Scotland at this time of year

TheHardyJoker · 08/05/2025 17:03

This is May. Not October which it feels like. Heating would be off be now normally and we'd be outside. Nice to hear you're getting warmer weather

Was 27C here this time last week. Our highest in the next 2 weeks (acordidng to the BBC weather app) is 22C on 20th May but with rain

Forcast for 12 here today but I suspect it was warmer. Colder today than it has but no way has it been anything like October! Between 14/18 predictes next week but sunny so it will feel much warmer.

HeartyOchreHelper · 08/05/2025 17:06

17c here in the Highlands today, 21c tomorrow and 20c for Sunday and Monday 😎 then the week following is 18c-20c!

But yes like a PP said it’s been too dry and we do actually need some rain. We’re at high risk of wildfires just now.

YouRemindMe0fTheBabe · 08/05/2025 17:18

I'm in Scotland (central belt) and it's 15⁰ here. Looks like it will be 20⁰ over the weekend. It's lovely. Haven't put the heating on for a few weeks now, I just put on a jumper in the evening.

Mirrorxxx · 08/05/2025 17:19

Tbis is normal weather for May. The heat last week wasn’t

TheHardyJoker · 08/05/2025 17:23

It's not normal! I think it's freezing! No why is it so cold threads anywhere for this spell. This time last year it was 21C here up north and London was 22C.

16 on Saturday Ne Scotland.. That's tropical heat for us😎

InfoSecInTheCity · 08/05/2025 17:26

It’s completely normal temperatures for the time of year, “N’er cast a clout till May is out” is a saying for a reason. DD is a mid-May birthday and we’ve had a mix of temperatures from 13ish - 20ish and dry to pissing it down. The hot weather a couple of weeks ago was an anomaly.

I’m also freezing (in the SE). I work outdoors and it was cold enough for two fleeces this morning, though it did warm up my mid afternoon to being able to wear just a jumper whilst doing physically active work. It’s the wind- it’s very chilly.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 08/05/2025 17:38

It’s forecast 23 here on Sunday( Wiltshire)
it’s a breezy 16 today.

MimiGC · 08/05/2025 17:53

It’s definitely not normal for the second week in May to be so cold. I’m blooming freezing (SE), have a jumper on, two pairs of socks, plus a blanket over me on the sofa. Extra blankets at night for the past few nights too.

Throwmoneyatit · 08/05/2025 17:56

14°c here in north west. Still dropping to around 4/5°c at night time. Temps predicted between 19-21°c at the weekend!

BarelyLiquid · 08/05/2025 18:16

We've not had rain in a month, northern England, warm every day, 16 degrees today and due to get hotter. Was in the twenties last week. Always warm in May as far as I can remember.
