How gross is it? Would it make you want it ? 🤮

I thought the McDonald's one was bad enough where she wipes the sauce off her leg.

Lol they're all pretty weird.

But as an advertising campaign, they're definitely getting it right as people have been talking about their ads for years.

I remember about 15 or 20 years ago there were loads of complaints because they ran an ad where people were talking or singing with their mouths full!

Just found this Google AI

A 2005 KFC advert, showing call center workers singing with their mouths full, became the most complained-about ad in the UK, attracting 1,671 complaints.

The main criticism was that the ad encouraged children to talk with their mouths full, which was seen as bad manners.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) ultimately ruled that the ad did not breach any guidelines and was not overly unpleasant.

I hate it too. It's based on the French custom of eating Ortolan, tiny little rare birds. Because it is illegal to eat Ortolan, the diners put a napkin over their heads to hide their identity and their shame. It costs them approximately £200 for the pleasure.

I have never eaten an Ortolan or a KFC but I wouldn't want to eat anything that requires me to hide my face, in shame. As for KFC trying to equate Ortolan with chicken ...

@Sminty2 I've never heard of that.

I thought exactly the same when I saw the advert. Vile

I've not seen the ad, but Wikipedia reckons:

"The purpose of the [napkin] is debated. Some claim it is to retain the maximum aroma with the flavour as they consume the entire bird at once, while according to The Daily Telegraph, "Tradition dictates that [the napkin] is to shield – from God's eyes – the shame of such a decadent and disgraceful act", and others have suggested the towel simply hides the consumers spitting out bones.

Sensitive peeps are advised not to read the original page. Interesting-sounding choice by KFC.

It's awful and is completely putting me off KFC.
