New job - didn’t get paid

Started a new job at the beginning of April.

Absolutely busted my gut for a month working, training and e-learning.

Just checked my work profile for my payslip and I’ve got one, with a big fat ZERO on it.

I’m meant to be on a training course tomorrow and doing some work at home but now feeling very demotivated…and BROKE.

I mean, why can’t these companies just get their act together? They’ve had my info for 6 weeks.

AIBU to be upset? I can’t really wait around for them to faff about with my pay.

Don't tell Mumsnet, speak to your employer.

Depends how they run their payroll, at ours the cut off is quite early in the month for payday on the 25th - but someone who does a full calendar month would get at least a part month on their first payday (with the balance the following).
You should definitely query why you have none. But they may pay more in arrears. It should say in your contract though?

Have you spoken to payroll?

forrestfrankfan · 01/05/2025 21:43

I've had the odd problem with my wages over the years, as soon as I've reported it I end up with a BACS transfer in the next few days of anything I'm due
Try not to panic. If it's a mistake it'll get sorted

Have you checked with them?

I have always been paid in monthly arrears, as has my OH (who since taking early retirement has recently picked up a couple of PT jobs which are paid in exactly the same way).
Means that say you started on 1st April, you would not receive any pay until the end of May.
