Chicken pox in the paddling pool?

Posting here for traffic! Anyone from the uk knows how hot it’s been these last few days! My toddler has woken up this morning covered in chicken pox but because it’s been so hot and sunny we’ve got the paddling pool out on the garden. So is it safe for him to be in the paddling pool while he has chicken pox?
unreasonable- no it’s not safe
Not unreasonable- yes it’s fine

As long as he isn't sharing it I don't see why not.

It's water - no different to giving them a bath, go for it!

45 years ago I had bad chicken pox in a heatwave. I spent all day in the paddling pool for a week.

The only problem came when my scabs fell off. I was left with white spots all over me.

I was told to put some salt in the water and leave DS in the pool as much as possible when he got chicken pox. Helps reduce itching and scars apparently.

Not a doctor but seemed to work.

Aww, bless him. It's the best thing to help him cool down and not scratch.

This. How would it be different to putting him in the bath?
