There is a job that I have applied for that I really would like. The vacancy closed on Monday 28th April and it said on the advert that the interview date was this Friday. Is it too desperate to ring the employer and ask if they have shortlisted anyone yet or should I take it I haven’t been invited to interview?

I don't think I'd mind a quick call to check I'd received the application okay. Keep it breezy.

You have nothing to loose by ringing.

If you have not been shortlisted then so be it but at least you know.
If you have been shortlisted then maybe they need a prompt.

If they were emailing, have you checked your spam folder?
