Neighbour plays the same music daily

whenever its warm outside our neighbours have their kitchen door and all windows open and play the same bloody music all day every day. It’s that bad that when one song finishes, I know what song is coming next.

Fleetwood Mac
Cher
Meatloaf
Black Sabbath

On repeat, all day

WIBU to approach them about it? I don’t even mind the noise, it’s the repetitive music - it’s driving me insane. It will start about 9am - Fleetwood Mac - Seven Wonders

Put something on a lot louder to drop the hint

Roselilly36 · 30/04/2025 06:48

I can empathise OP, we lived in a flat way back in 1990, the couple that lived above, played Hippy Chick on bloody repeat, drove us insane!

BlossomBlanket · 30/04/2025 06:49

Aw they've got a favourite mix cd. That's sweet. Annoying but you can just put music on too

Mermaidsarereal · 30/04/2025 11:52

This is where I would start acting immature and play one song over and over again all day... even if you go out just leave the song on 😅

SingWithMeJustForToday · 30/04/2025 11:53

Our upstairs neighbours used to do this. Warm weather = ABBA, in the exact same order.

Eventually my now husband started blasting the next song just before the first one finished... they got the message and apologised for the volume, and we had a laugh about it, but they did keep playing the same playlist 😅

Judiezones · 30/04/2025 11:55

My SIL had this problem, so she played a radio really loud on a table next to the fence. They took the hint.

MoistVonL · 30/04/2025 11:56

“Oi, Vera, could at least press Shuffle?”

ThejoyofNC · 30/04/2025 11:56

Put baby shark on repeat, they'll soon get the message.

PeggyMitchellsCameo · 30/04/2025 11:58

I wear my EarPod things outside as I don’t want to inflict my music on the neighbours.
Black Sabbath, Christ, that’s awful, heavy metal.
Can I suggest either really heavy gangster rap, or really shite pop in retaliation?

21ZIGGY · 30/04/2025 11:59

Haha i think this about my neighbours. I always ask alexa to play TSwift or the beatles or take that and alexa puts the same songs in the same order every time 🤣

I would get removed voluntarily listening to that.
I am also now singing it. If I’m still singing it when awake in the small hours I will be suing you for a bit of compo! 😂😂😂😂😂

Yep 🤣

MyKingdomForACat · 30/04/2025 12:05

We’ve got one who, once the sun is out opens the back door and sings along to Miley Cyrus ‘Flowers’. Why? It’s embarrassing and no one wants to hear you. It’s a built up area ffs. Have some respect for yourself and others.

MrsSkylerWhite · 30/04/2025 12:22

At least they’re professionals, OP. We’ve one at the end of the garden who sings 😱

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 30/04/2025 12:25

That made me laugh a bit as I have a tendency to get really obsessed with a particular song and listen to it over and over for a period of time 😂 Then I get sick of it and move on…

I wouldn’t do it at a volume my neighbours could hear though - or even that can be heard upstairs because my poor children…

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 30/04/2025 12:25

Shall we do a swap? You can have pounding dance music instead. Doesn’t even have any bloody words in it - drives me mad. Not just limited to warm weather though 😡

Ineedanewsofa · 30/04/2025 12:40

Ha, this reminds me of the lady next door in our first house, the minute the sun came out she was in her garden with a cider (or 3!) blasting Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon album all day on repeat. 15 years after we moved, I reckon I still word perfect 🤣

My neighbours have actually done this. Not to send out a message, just because they've got small children who like it and the parent don't seem to understand that it makes anyone else within earshot want to go on an axe rampage

😂 it’s catchy, LOL, I have never forgotten it! It was so many years ago, but as soon as I saw OP post, I was straight back there, strange how music does that to you!

TumbledTussocks · 30/04/2025 17:41

Better than my downstairs neighbour who was clearly going through stuff. Toni Braxton Unbreak My Heart on repeat for years.

I do this too, currently two extremely embarrassing songs on repeat 🙈 sorry neighbours, hope you like Fiona Apple's 'criminal' and Daniel Bedingfield's 'gotta get through this'

TrickorTreacle · 30/04/2025 18:42

If you can still hear music after 11PM, then you have a case, but otherwise you can't police what people listen to.

There are of course a few exceptions to this rule.

So Solid Crew - 21 Seconds
Black Eye Peas - My Humps
DJ Sammy - Heaven
Crazy Frog - Axel F
Hanson - Mmm'Bop
Mariah Carey's Christmas song
Mr Blobby
Tellitubbies say eh oh

Then you can call the police on 999 no matter what time of the day it is!
