To think that people should never beg?

Whether it’s for love, friendship or opportunities - begging just makes you look desperate. If someone doesn’t value you enough to meet you halfway, is there any point in chasing after them?

I get that persistence can sometimes pay off but where’s the line between determination and lowering your self-respect? Should people just walk away when they don’t get what they want or is there ever a time when “begging” is justified?”

It depends on the situation and on what you mean by 'beg'

Neveranynamesleft · 29/04/2025 17:55

What on earth are you talking about ??

TheGrimSqueakersFlea · 29/04/2025 18:14

@Neveranynamesleft careful! Op might think you're begging for information

notsureyetcertain · 29/04/2025 18:15

For food, water, yours or a loved ones life are all reasonably reasons to beg.

CopperWhite · 29/04/2025 18:18

I agree it depends on the situation. There are things I’d beg for and willingly lose all dignity for, but I wouldn’t beg just for a ‘want’.

Dillydollydingdong · 29/04/2025 18:18

We need more information. What are you begging for?

MrsFrumble · 29/04/2025 18:21

I think this might be in response to the thread about feigning indifference about the same things.

UndermyShoeJoe · 29/04/2025 18:22

Begging someone to love you ? No never.
