Taking small kids out for tea near Thirsk

Am I being unreasonable to think this will be possible? (Posted on AIBU for traffic and swift responses.)

Our current family situation means I am looking for somewhere in or near Thirsk (North Yorkshire) to have tea with DGC (2y6m & 5y1m) and DS-i-L around 5 or 5.30 today. Has anyone any suggestionds of likely places?

Please and thank you very much. 🤞 🙏

White horse fish and chip cafe on the. Market place

We went to the White Horse. It was, I think, just about the only possibility. Prompt table service, child-sized cutlery for children, lovely crispy batter. Elder child wanted F&C, so the younger had to have the same. One between two wd have been enough, but we didn't realise that in time. (Two generous children's portions = lots of wasted food.) But a (fairly) good time was had by all.

Thank you for the Sandhutton suggestion; we will try that another day.

G and Tea at Stokesley is excellent for children and during the week it is £1 for a child’s meal
