So a few weeks ago I went to the doctor as I thought I had a kidney infection but it turns out it was sciatica. They gave me some painkillers and I ran out after a week or so but it seems to have flared up again I get random shock when I am walking and bending down is becoming impossible. I have done the exercises etc but with it being a Saturday there isn’t much I can do is there?

Go to the pharmacy where your painkillers were originally dispensed and ask if they can recommend an over-the-counter alternative to help you through the weekend.

OP I feel your pain! I’ve never had sciatica, but have suffered with hip joint issues.
There are some great videos (both from NHS and others) that show loads of different ways of reducing back pain - try looking on YouTube for any that your Doctor may have missed, and hope you feel better soon💐

I agree with the chemist they may be able to get you through the weekend but I would suggest going back to Dr next week

I can't advise on your immediate painkiller issue, but just wanted to say that I had horrendous sciatica a few years ago (caused by a change in gait after breaking my leg), and what got rid of it for me was Pilates.

I have had sciatica, it was awful. The best advice I had was to treat it as inflammation so take ibuprofen (if you can) or something stronger if you can get it and use ice and heat packs alternately. I saw a chiropractor and that helped massively as did stretches and then Pilates when the pain had subsided.
