Eating on the train

A woman today near me was probably the noisiest adult eater I've ever come across. She also licked the foil and like slurped when she was done? She then sucked each finger. The guy in front of her made eye contact with me to be like wtf and then put his headphones in. She also wiped her face with a piece of foil? I feel like I dreamt it even though I didn't. She shoved big mouthfuls in and then used her finger to push the food in to be able to close her mouth.

Are you Julie Bindel, was it crisps? Grin

BallerinaRadio · 24/04/2025 20:26

Bit weird you were both watching her. She might have had a really hard day, or just really been looking forward to her food.

Let her be.

Kingsleadhat · 24/04/2025 20:26

I would have had to move before it ended in violence. That sounds like hell

2025isavibe · 24/04/2025 20:26

Had to Google Julie Bindel

If people were watching me eat I'd make a show of it for you as well 😂

It was so grim. Train absolutely packed and hot and stuffy and I had big luggage otherwise I might have. Wasn't too long a journey thank god

So you watched her eating, maybe she was doing it on purpose 😆

Edited

It does sound like it was quite a performance!

It would piss me off if people were watching me eating and judging me. Good for her!

If she's in public behaving like she's at a chimp's tea party, the people looking are not the weird ones.

Screamingabdabz · 24/04/2025 22:02

Ugh the thought of her saliva fingers all over everything… vile and disgusting. YANBU. In brighter news, at least you made a friend!

TY78910 · 24/04/2025 22:05

I have quite bad misophonia so this would absolutely finish me

Anotherparkingthread · 24/04/2025 22:14

People like that are fucking revolting.

The only people in the world who advocate for that kind of behaviour are fetishists lol.

WhySoManySocks · 24/04/2025 22:17

What was she eating? Please tell
me something completely bizarre for the train like a full roast or cabbages or a microwaved fish dish.

OudAndRose · 24/04/2025 22:21

That sounds hilarious. I think she was messing with you for staring.

Having said that, I once bought a salad bowl for a LONG train journey home. I hand't eaten all day and really needed it. Then I realised I hadn't picked up one of those wood forks and had no way to eat it except with fingers. I tried to do it discreetly by turning to the wall and being dainty, but felt like an idiot.

VirgosNeedGoals · 24/04/2025 22:32

As someone with extreme misophonia I can confirm people like that are absolute CUNTS.

This is why I refuse to go anywhere without earbuds. I'd have jumped off the train.

dayslikethese1 · 24/04/2025 22:58

People are disgusting honestly. I have a hatred of people who eat tuna fish sandwiches on public transport, it happens way too often and they always seem to sit by me. The last time I was on a coach, the woman next to me was literally picking bits of skin off her face the whole journey.

This has happened to me too!

Kingsleadhat · 25/04/2025 08:32

I was once in a cafe where a man on the next table was shovelling noodles in his mouth, chewing, spitting it out and then shovelling the resultant mess back in.

A hard day is no excuse for bad manners.
