To think I should be over this by now?

handhold. Been floored with a bug earlier this week (think proper toilet hugging vibes, TMI sorry!) and although the worst seems to have passed, I still can’t keep anything down. Every time I try to eat even something plain like toast or a dry biccie, I feel awful again. Bit better with fluids but even water makes my stomach do somersaults.

DCs had something similar last week but bounced back after a day, DH had a mild version too. I’m the only one who seems to be completely knocked sideways by it. Tried ringing GP but surprise surprise, no appts. Pharmacist said just ride it out unless there’s blood (TMI again, soz).

I’m shattered, head’s banging and just want a normal cup of tea without feeling like I’ve run a marathon after it.

Anyone else had something like this recently? Or AIBU to think this should be gone by now?

Yeah I’m down with it at the moment. Bloody fed up with it as have had lots of bugs this year.

Avoid anything dairy, no butter on the toast, no cereal with milk etc.

You want to go totally bland food/drink.

Flat lemonade may help with nausea, it may knock you sick. Toast can also knock you sick, its stodgy, dry and it needs dairy spread.

Try some plain meat, maybe some sliced chicken or sliced beef, something that is plain and un processed. A few bites.

Water gets boring, orange can taste sicky, fresh orange is acidic so avoid it. Try some peppermint tea, not coffee.

Thanks all - really appreciate the replies. I’m curled up on the sofa with a hot water bottle feeling sorry for myself so this is making me feel less alone! Will try a bit of dry toast again in a bit and see what happens… Might brave some peppermint tea too if I can stomach getting up to make it. Totally fed up now.
