Husband cutting his hair in a box

Ok.. so slightly tongue in cheek but completely infuriating me ATM! My husband has started to cut his own hair at home (too tight to go to barber) he has started to lean over a plastic box to cut his hair then was leaving it (with hair) in the bathroom. When I complained it disappeared for a while and today I have found in the guest en suite a box full of hair with his hair clippers. When challenged and asked to at least empty said box, he just says well it's not full up yet so he is planning on leaving a box full of hair just lying around and does not seem to think this is at all disgusting! Just to say he is generally quite clean and good about the house but he just can't seem to see my problem with this! AIBU to find this disgusting or is it just a men vs women thing?? 😂

Nothing wrong with cutting his own hair but the keeping it in a box is interesting. What does he plan to do with it? At least he's cleaning it up rather than leaving it all over the bathroom floor I suppose haha

It's an odd thing to do, and a little selfish!

It's not long, he hasn't got that much left to be honest so just runs over with the clippers as he says the barber is a waste of time and money.. its just grim!!

I don’t think it’s a men/women thing. I once saw a lady on the tube cutting her nails and putting the clippings in a plastic box.

Maybe he’s saving it up to make a jumper for you?

This is hilarious. But awful. Are the clippers cordless? If so, I recommend doing what I do with my toddler, which is to cut his hair in the garden 'so that the birds can make nests out of the clippings'.

That was presumably just not to be a disgusting skank who left her nail clippings all over the tube. it doesn't mean she was saving them in a box till it was full!

Its both gross and lazy. I presume you have bins in your house. Its not much effort to walk to one and throw the clippings away.

And I don't believe all the clippings could end up in the box! My dh also uses a clipper at home, but he does at least make a half-hearted attempt to clean up (only with a brush, seems going to another room to fetch the hoover is too much of an ask). In nice weather he does it outside, but then just leaves it all over the patio including stuck to the plants. Which I find pretty grim.

Well when she started, there were already clippings in the Tupperware, so she’d clearly been saving some. But, after she finished both fingers and her big toenails she put the lid on, waited a few minutes, then opened the lid and started chewing on them.

It might be for his new etsy shop. Maybe he's planning to make and sell merkins

I would perhaps make a boiling pot of Suspicious Smelling Broth and casually let him find you adding some handfuls of his hair to it. When questioned, act shifty, and say it's something you read about on TikTok. Also, is he feeling any differently today ...?

I mean, cutting your nails on the Tube already makes you a disgusting skank...no one wants to see that.
