Parents so fussy with Dcs

How are your parents/your children’s grandparents with them?
I’m finding it increasingly annoying how they’re always telling Dcs ‘Don’t do this, don’t do that’ at things that are really not a problem at all.
Ds has a friend round playing and my Dm is here for dinner, she is asking me at every turn if they’re allowed to just go in the drawers and won’t they make a mess, or she looks irritated when they run into the garden to play and leave the patio open. These are really not problems, they’re not bad kids, not misbehaving and just having fun. A bit of mess, in terms of toys around is to be expected, surely? the same with noise whilst playing.

Are yours like this?

Tell DM that this is your house, and your parenting methods are not hers, and she needs to stop.

DM tells kids off for something - DM, do not chastise the children for X activity in this house. They are not doing anything wrong. Your parenting methods were different to mine, please respect that.

Is this how other’s parents are with your kids?
If we go out for coffee, it’s always ‘Don’t touch that, sit down’
