Oh god I’ve eaten so much

Massively over indulged over Easter. I always go a bit mad when it’s school holidays and the routine goes out of the window, but add all of the chocolate to the mix and it’s just been ridiculous. I feel so bloated and disgusting now. I already had a good 2 stone to lose (which I’ve been promising myself I’ll do for the past 3 years and haven’t managed yet) but now Easter is over I really think I need to have a big overhaul of my eating habits and drinking habits too if I’m honest.

Anyone else over indulged? Any low calorie meal ideas to ease me back into a week at work?

I know exactly what you mean! As I currently eat my chips!

Look, tomorrow is a new day and the smallest steps can be the biggest changes.

I managed to lose 2 stone but I'm definitely putting it back on. And feeling blue but tomorrow is a new day :-)
Good luck !

Thank you. I am beginning to think that I have some sort of disordered eating habits if I’m honest. I binge like crazy and the diet always starts on Monday. But when Monday comes I can’t stick to it. I’ve been stuck at 12 stone for 3 years, desperate to get closer to 10 but just can’t make any lasting lifestyle or diet changes. Throw Christmas or Easter or a holiday into the mix and I just go totally off the rails. Gah!

Try to eat more protein, less carbs, more fibre, drink only water, move more and lift weights when you find a min! Yeah, that should do it if you can find time! I am struggling to do the same, so any tips welcome. Didn’t really over indulge but didn’t get much walking in as kids are off school and work has been insane! I usually walk 5-6 miles a day with the school drop offs and pick ups and a half hour work out! Anyway just going to do what I can and try to be consistent.

BurntOrange · 21/04/2025 22:21

I feel your pain! Feel gross and bloated and hoping to get back into good habits tomorrow!

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 21/04/2025 22:23

Veering from binge to low calorie and then falling off the wagon is just the route to more weight gain. Don't go low calorie - it will just make you feel deprived and hungry and send you right back to binging.

Just eat proper food in sensible quantities, no junk, plenty of fruit, veg and water and don't expect to lose weight quickly.

Stuckinarut100 · 21/04/2025 22:25

Eat 100g of protein a day, minimum and try to break the habits of reaching for sugary food.
its hard!

MsNevermore · 21/04/2025 22:27

I’ve had family here for the past 2 weeks.
Routine went totally out of the window. I think I cooked an actual meal twice in the entire 2 weeks. The rest was all eating out, at weird times of day. I could have ordered salads etc…..but we don’t eat out often when we don’t have visitors, so I was ordering the stuff I wanted and wouldn’t normally cook at home.
They flew home yesterday after another restaurant dinner and I said to my DH: “Tomorrow, I need to eat something green” 🫣😂
I have got back on the wagon today, but I still feel sluggish and bloated from all the crap I have been eating 😭

BoysBagsShoes · 21/04/2025 22:28

Oh god, yes! I’ve recently lost a load of weight but feel like a huge blob of chocolate, hot cross buns, chocolate, random food and more chocolate at the mo.
Tomorrow is a new day 🤞🏻

I'm on mounjaro and ate a tiny baked potato this evening. I feel like I've eaten a beach ball and so nauseous. It's Impossible to binge on this stuff.

motherhen27 · 21/04/2025 22:31

I think I will start with plenty of water and no junk. Just sensible ish meals. No point throwing myself in at the deep end after two weeks of pure gluttony or I’ll just fall off the wagon again.
I definitely use food as a treat and comfort so need to get out of that mindset.

Intermittent fasting. I’m lying around like a beached whale inhaling chocolate, love my food and eat what I want. However I never eat before midday and aged 56 I’m 8.5 stone.

Do you have a coffee or anything? Or just water? I could probably manage this to be fair, I’m not big on breakfast during the week. Would miss my weekend bacon butty though. And one coffee before lunch is fairly essential.

Well that sounds healthy... 🙄

FairlyTired · 21/04/2025 22:37

Focus on your activity level, going for a 45 minute brisk walk on your lunch break each day will burn off those eggs worth of calories fairly quickly. It's fine to still enjoy life and indulge at times when trying to lose weight!

Is it good thing if you feel nauseous after 1 potato? I’m thinking about them just wondering if it helps menobelly ? Thanks

Try Mediterranean diet and cutting out sugar, I’ve lost 8lbs doing that recently

flumposie · 21/04/2025 22:57

You sound just like me.

I have several black coffees- long espressos with a decent crema- ie no milk but not short and bitter, tasty.
I don’t stick religiously to the nothing before midday, and 5/6 days a week I do and that’s enough. And then eat whatever I want. I don’t drink, which is another factor though.

KittyKatttt · 21/04/2025 23:11

Yes I feel like shit. This weekend I’ve eaten a huge takeaway, several sausage buttys, a pack of hot cross buns, pastries, a huge roast and 5 Easter eggs among things.

I usually eat really well so not worried too much about weight gain. I just feel awful in myself. Will be back to my normal eating tomorrow. The trick is not to see it as a failure and give up because you’ve blown it all now.

The only thing that works for me is counting every calorie. Obviously haven’t done that this weekend!

If you do have coffee does it contain milk or are you zero calorie before midday?

Whynotaxthisyear · 21/04/2025 23:20

Have a day of food you enjoy tomorrow but alll healthy. Lots of fruit and salad. Don’t restrict much at first.

Sunsweetsandandicecream · 21/04/2025 23:22

I hear you on this. My excuse is that the chocolate eggs are only available once a year, and I couldn't allow my dcs to eat all of that sugar could I? 😂
