For one thing it's BORING, for another it goes against the supposedly supportive ethos of mumsnet and third, I don't think the advertisers would be in support of culling the number of mumsnetters just to keep the older posters happy?

But most of all, because it's a boring subject.

Now I'm going to go and do something more interesting instead.

I generally ignore it. Don't mind a bit of witty banter, but it can be a bit ott at times, I guess.

I agree with cod, to add I think there's been more bitchiness from the 'newbies' about the 'oldies' since said threads. Its all fun really. Friendly banter (i think) (I hope)
