To love doing absolutely nothing this Easter bank holiday?

I live alone and have no plans this weekend - no family lunches, no trips, no activities… and honestly? Bliss.

Anyone else just enjoying the quiet and not feeling the need to do anything? Or am I the odd one out?

100% - four days off week and none of the stress or pressure of Christmas. It’s my favourite Bank Holiday for sure.

Same here. Live alone with my dog. My 3 DS’s are adults and busy, which is great and I’m happy they’re happy
ordered myself a pair of Levi 501’s from Brand alley and they’ve just arrived
My Easter treat to myself.
Im happy in my own company and bank holidays are no exception.
Have a relaxing Easter!

Live with DH and DS but loving just chilling. Terrible weather so no need to do anything!

AreMyEyesGreen · 19/04/2025 13:50

I'm the same OP. I have a dh & young adult dc (busy doing their own thing) so dh & I are having a VERY chilled couple of days with books & coffee & wine 🍷
I'm loving it

CiaoMeow · 19/04/2025 14:38

Yes! I couldn't have wished for better weather. No pressure to get out and about and 'enjoy' myself with a group of people. Just me, DH and our cat. Bliss.
Have a lovely, relaxing Easter!

ThePoshUns · 19/04/2025 15:48

Yes! Im away in my caravan and it’s so nice not doing anything! Easter is the nicest long weekend. Weather could be better but can’t have everything

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 19/04/2025 15:54

DH & I have declined all invitations this weekend, it was a little difficult for me but DH really needs the chill time and having no plans and a well stocked fridge is proving to be extremely enjoyable. Currently having a day bath while he’s cooking, just heard a cork pop!

I’m relishing an empty diary . I love my own company and have my dogs but have a very busy social life and wanted a quiet weekend . I’ve had a pre Easter declutter and spring clean , bought fresh flowers and a new candle . Yesterday I binge watched the Glass Dome on Netflix , today I had breakfast out , took the dogs to the woods , came home to a sushi lunch and did a new Lego set . Bliss

Myself and DP are spending Easter chilling with the hounds. Cheers all! 🍷🍺

DisplayPurposesOnly · 19/04/2025 18:15

Just me and my pets lolling... In theory I should be doing some painting. In practice, I can't promise 😂

BaileyHorse · 20/04/2025 15:07

Sounds heavenly. Enjoy!

LlynTegid · 20/04/2025 15:11

It's not me, but it is your choice and I am glad to read you are enjoying it. I agree with the person who mentioned no pressure unlike Christmas.

Totallytoti · 20/04/2025 15:12

Have two dc but we got them lots of little things to keep them busy, we have movies on, did our own egg hunt at home, lots of delicious food and just relaxing. Have only been to the park and nice lunches out but have declined all invites too. Dc have been quite happy to do not much before school starts again too.

I’m the same and also live alone . I actually forgot it was the Easter weekend until my line manager mentioned something on Wednesday 😂 needless to say I had no plans!

Been spending it working on a creative project the past couple of days but today I’m particularly chilled - the sun is shining through my windows so I’m going between reading, napping and watching movies. Last month I travelled twice to London, to the U.S. and somewhere in Europe - so April is a month of rest and recovery for me!

lunaemma · 20/04/2025 15:18

Enjoying it very much. Had a wisdom tooth out and a couple of tattoos so an easy few days

WompWompBoom · 20/04/2025 15:18

Been planned to be chilled. But my ice hockey team made the finals today so after a mad scramble last night I've got tickets to be there. So on our way and excited. But love that I could do that as had nothing else booked in. :)

cheapskatemum · 20/04/2025 16:20

Yes, I thought the weather was going to be bad, so didn’t make any plans. Instead it’s been gloriously sunny, so I’ve been reading on my sun trap back patio. I’ve changed my bedding, picked the odd weed & done a bit of ironing, but other than that I’m just chilling & loving it.

Augustus40 · 20/04/2025 16:23

It is a nice break from the usual routines. I feel 4 days is too long though.

AreMyEyesGreen · 20/04/2025 16:30

Too long for what @Augustus40? Are you alone? I can see how that might feel long.

We're doing v v little & it's bliss to have a chance to recharge batteries.

I would happily have another 4 days of the same!

I'm lying on bed reading & browsing on my phone. I slept till 10am today & I'm refusing to feel even the tiniest bit guilty about any of it. Life is v busy generally & I was feeling exhausted on Thursday night

ThePoshUns · 20/04/2025 16:41

Yes I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to catch up on some sleep and properly relax it’s bliss.

FourChimneys · 20/04/2025 16:41

I agree with others who say Easter is far better than Christmas. Even if you do Christmas very minimally, there is some pressure to at least acknowledge it. Easter doesn't carry that weight.

DH has been doing some DIY, we've seen friends, I have been reading, crocheting, gardening and planning a couple of holidays. Apart from the wreath of plastic eggs on a neighbour's door, Easter could have completely passed me by.
