Wanting to get pregnant again.
Pregnant at 40. Lost baby 5 months ago at 13 weeks and needed surgery. Do I have any chance? I’m so miserable

You’re pregnant again so of course there is a chance. Good luck and fingers crossed 🤞

Of course you do.
Pop over to the conception boards xx

Were you trying to get pregnant?

BobbyBiscuits · 16/04/2025 19:29

Do you want a child? If so then it's good news. Keep positive and hope for the best. If it doesn't work out then this time it wasn't meant to be, but you can keep trying. Lots of women have successful pregnancies at 40. X

Has anyone had any luck? Every month is agony when period comes

I had a healthy baby at 41 after a tmfr (was over a year earlier though) and multiple other losses. 3rd successful pregnancy. Good luck OP

I was your age when I lost my little boy and felt miserable, a failure and just utterly devastated with loss and grief. I went on to fall pregnant with twins and carried them successfully to 37 weeks.

Don’t give up hope!
I am so sorry for what you have been through, sending ❤️

UndermyShoeJoe · 16/04/2025 19:44

Not in my 40’s but I had miscarriages before every single one of my successful pregnancies.

Anxious24 · 16/04/2025 19:53

@Lillygolightly how long did it take you to fall pregnant? Sorry to ask. I had surgery so
worry about that. Did you need ivf etc?

I literally just had my rainbow baby 5 days ago by csection. I lost my twin boys at birth 17 months ago. My first was a stillbirth and my second waa a neonatal death 4 days later. It took me 7 months to fall pregnant again but it was definitely grief. Before my rainbow it only took me a month or two at most to conceive.

Be good to yourself. Pregnancy after loss is very tough and I only posted today about how hard it is postpartum too with the conflicting emotions.

@Anxious24 i tried for my 3rd at 40. Got pregnant really quickly but it was ectopic and needed methotrexate. You’re not allowed to conceive for a few months afterwards because it depletes all your folic acid and you would have birth defects if you managed to even conceive. Then it was a year or more to get pg again (42) and that time I had my youngest daughter. So yes. It’s very possible. Relax and keep trying.
