Planning to return from mat leave 3 days. Most my meetings are currently on Mondays. If I don’t work at least 2 from Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday it’s likely I’ll need to move teams which I want to avoid. Have offers of family help for childcare Monday and Tuesday.

I didn’t initially want Friday off, but M-Tu-W makes the most sense here doesn’t it?

I did mon turn wed until dd2 started school then added Thurs too. Fri off is brilliant. I get all the house/shopping/laundry etc all done then have weekend free for family fun instead of just chores.

My work is fully flexible so I can also swap a fri off for a Monday and then have a 4 day weekend every so often 😀

I think mon, tue, wed is the best too. Gives you a good break, plus I found when dc were at school most people didn’t work Fridays so was a good day for meeting up in holidays for play dates etc

the only downside to mon is the BH situation, however my work were always flexible and let me work T/W/Th on those weeks to avoid using too much annual leave.

Working Monday means you use a lot of annual leave for bank holidays

I found it good to have a gap of a day, so that reduce ‘uncovered’ time out of the office was usually only one day at a time and leave time to make more progress on tasks dependent on others.

Mon Tue Thu works well for me- I find it breaks the week up.
