Does being a UAE resident give him any benefits…

My niece is currently living in the UAE with her boyfriend and three children, and would like to explore the possibility of coming back to the UK late next year.

her boyfriend is Turkish, she is British. The visa for Turkish to reside in the UK is notoriously difficult, but she’s been told by a colleague that being a UAE resident with an emirates identity card would make the process easier as he would gain similar rights as UAE residents would when it comes to obtaining a visa.

Is this correct information? I am concerned as I don’t think this matters as his passport is still Turkish.

can anybody clear this up for us without having NG to go down the route of a immigration lawyer first?

we know she will have to when it comes to applying but for this question we wanted to check online first.

Thank you

I can’t answer this but know there was a thread by someone living in the UAE with a Turkish boyfriend who wanted to bring him to the UK about a week ago. Maybe searching for that thread may help.
