To want DH at 12 week scan

Due to have our 12 week scan for 3rd child in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately it's on the one day a week when we have no childcare, and the hospital have no other slots. No relatives available and feel cheeky asking friends to look after 2 under 4s for us. But I've had a missed miscarriage before and I'm anxious about the scan and don't want to go alone. AIBU?

I would definitely ask friends. If you feel bad asking someone to look after 2, could you ask two people, one each?

Ask your friends, it's not cheeky, it's an important time. He should definitely be there with you x

Most people would be happy to help. Ask.

I paid to put mine in childcare for a half day for this very reason. So if you have the option of leaving them with friends, I absolutely would. And when you go for the scan let them know you’ve had missed miscarriages before and you’re feeling anxious - they were very kind and considerate and talked me through what was happening.

I would ask your friends.

They can always say no if it's not convenient for them or they don't want to. But if they really are friends they will probably be only too happy to help.

when we had a similar issue, I asked on fb whether anyone knew anywhere that could take my kid or if they had responsible teens in need of cash. That way there was no pressure and I had several people message me to offer. Less pressure that way.

Best of luck x
