What can I do to stop this from happening?

Really does my head in when we come back and can't get into the drive, or when we open the garage and can't get out. Actually, it annoys me if we aren't even going in or out. I just find it so rude! We are in Spain so I guess there may be a cultural thing at play but does anyone have any suggestions to prevent this from happening? Our drive seems to be the go to for all the gardeners and workmen for surrounding properties....

Use your words.

Go and ask him (nicely yeah?) if he wouldn't mind moving his vehicle because you need to get out.

I don't always see them arrive or know which property they are in. Also, there is a language barrier (have tried this before) as many don't speak English and my Spanish is very poor. Trying to work on that.

Could you get the Spanish equivalent of a no parking-private property sign?

MsMajeika · 14/04/2025 12:41

Do you have a Leroy Merlin or ferretería nearby? Get one of these and put it at the end of the wall.

MsMajeika · 14/04/2025 12:43

It's not letting me post a link for some reason. Search on Google for "avisamos grua".

Lubrana061302 · 14/04/2025 12:47

Yes we have a Leroy Merlín nearby. Do you think a simple sign would work?

If you don't always see them then a sign would be the obvious choice, surely?

You can park at the road end of your drive, that way they will see they are blocking in a car, & hopefully not block you in.
It does look like you can get off the drive in that photograph though ?

KrisAkabusi · 14/04/2025 13:09

I'm not sure what the issue is here as it looks like he's left plenty of room to drive out.

JackieDaytonaLuckyBrews · 14/04/2025 13:12

I'd go for a sign/signs personally and see if that helps. "Drive in constant use do not block" kind of thing.

SpringIsSpringing25 · 14/04/2025 13:15

I'm very confused, there looks like plenty of room to get out??

We have 4 retractable bollard things, the ones that drop down into the ground.
