Bitcoin and school

DC are in a Local private school which has been struggling financially for a while. A number of pupils and staff have/are leaving this year and I think that combined with VAT (and years of financial mismanagement) has really put them under pressure.

Anyway, today the school announced it will start accepting BitCoin. This doesn’t affect us at all as we don’t use BitCoin but I can’t decide if it’s a really forward thinking move or if they are clutching at straws. I’m swaying to the latter. I know the international market is their main target to boost fees and it’s got me wondering- how common is BitCoin?
AIBU- BitCoin is bigger than you think
AINBU- BitCoin…?

Bitcoin has been legal tender in some places for years. It will be interesting to see how it goes.

No idea why my post was hidden. I was just reading an article about the school. Interesting.

There are several articles in the press, including the Times, The Herald and a number of others. I just had a quick look.

What a bizarre way to run a business.

May as well just put it all into lottery tickets or go to BetFred.
