To think this isn’t normal around ovulation?

I’m getting excessive clear discharge around ovulation. I’ve had tests for infection and sti etc but all fine. GP says it can be normal for some women but I’m in my mid thirties and this hasn’t happened to me before like this. It’s so much that I have to change underwear sometimes. It’s almost like having a second period (not quite but heading that way). Can this really just be normal?

I've always been a bit like that.

828Pax · 11/04/2025 20:05

I have some months every now and again like that

NinaGeiger · 11/04/2025 20:06

My discharge around ovulation is almost as heavy as my period but it's always been like that.
For ages I thought there was something wrong as I'd never heard of it being that heavy but eventually, after loads of swabs etc I realised it's just normal for me

Cotswoldmama · 11/04/2025 20:13

Yep normal, I have this most months for a few days

Wear one of those dailies thin pads

BlondeMummyto1 · 11/04/2025 20:34

It’s egg white cervical mucus and very normal around ovulation.

WhatMe123 · 11/04/2025 20:42

Yup totally normal, good sign of fertility op

TwinklyNight · 12/04/2025 04:21

Normal sign of ovulation.

GoodVibesHere · 12/04/2025 04:58

Completely normal

steff13 · 12/04/2025 05:02

I'll add to the chorus of "completely normal."

Normal for me since giving birth 6 years ago; I didn’t get it before birth, or if I did it was much lighter.

Same for me, never had much discharge pre my last child but since having her my discharge very much follows what the internet says it’s should re certain points in the cycle so for example egg white at ovulation. Currently pregnant with my 2nd and had to wear a pad daily as discharge is like a leaky tap! It’s all totally normal

90swildchild · 12/04/2025 07:37

Same here since giving birth 5 years ago. I'm early 40's and had it before that! I also thought initially it was an infection or something but apparently not!

Hjhjifd · 12/04/2025 08:08

Thank you this is very reassuring!!!

I've always had this... I'd always thought it was just me and was a bit disgusted by it, really. Until I was trying to conceive (at 33!!) and realised it's a 'thing'. To think I'd been ashamed of it all this time 🙄

FeministUnderTheCatriarchy · 12/04/2025 16:20

I've always had it. It's a very good thing if trying to conceive (annoying if not).

Fertility doctors call it "egg white discharge".

Our bodies are miraculous. Getting in tune with your discharge will tell you a lot about your body

Littleredracecar · 12/04/2025 16:24

Adding to the echo of its completely normal and optimal for fertility. Clear stretchy cervical fluid is a sign of ovulation as it’s very hospitable for sperm. The book ‘taking charge of your fertility’ is a good read if you want to learn more.

This has happened to me too since I had children. I hate it :(

LoveHearts69 · 12/04/2025 19:49

Another one here who’s had it so much more since having kids! I wonder why that is?
