Is it me or is there a culture developing where men and women are almost afraid of each other now and avoid each other, preventing them from dating and finding someone?

The reasons for it are understandable ie some interactions are less than pleasant if rejected, but whether they admit this or not I think so many young adults nowadays are desperately lonely and desperate to find someone but don’t know how

Women don’t need the same things from men as they used to; and most men aren’t offering anything different (what women actually need)

What would you say they actually need

That's not what I'm seeing OP. My son (who is at uni) has been with his girlfriend for 2 years, and most of his friends either have girlfriends / boyfriends or are currently single but have had relationships in the past. Seems very similar to my generation at that age.

Support in the home so they can have a career.

Women will bear children, have a career, and they can’t be expected to run the home as well. Men who take off the load of running the home and are happy to do so will be seen as a catch.

If you don’t financially provide (the traditional role), don’t support the home (the new role), then what is the purpose?
