Zonked out by Quietiapine?

Ive started on 50g of Quietiapine which is really helping me sleep well at night but I’m feeling completely zonked out during the day too.
Has anyone had the same symptom and does it reduce after a while?

I was on that briefly a few years ago. It was only briefly because I was so utterly tired I was like a zombie all day. I had to come off it as it just was so far beyond normal tiredness, I couldn’t function. I hope it improves for you!

I've been on it for ages, currently on 400mg and it does stop zonking you out during the day eventually but it takes a while. Unfortunately my dose no longer knocks me out at night. It's worth sticking it out for a month and then seeing how you're doing.

Thanks for replying. I’m quite enjoying the spaced out feeling but it isn’t conducive to getting anything done so hope it wears off quickly

I'm on it for schizoaffective disorder. It's been a life saver for me & relatively few side effects compared with the older antipsychotics.

I'm on 600mg a day

The sedation does definitely wear off but always have to carefully plan doses if I need to change routine - stay up late or get up early etc

The XR or depot can be prescribed if you are really struggling as you increase the dose. They keep a constant level so you don't have as much sedation as with the standard tablets.
