To ask for help getting my garden started?

I have NO idea about gardening. I have three patches in my garden I want to do something with. Garden is south east facing. Two patches get the sun until about midday the other gets the sun but is under a tree so it’s indirect light, I definitely notice less growth in this area. I want to dig/rake over and put down some bulbs. It needs to be low maintenance and idiot proof. Any suggestions please?

Google here is your friend! I started gardening a couple years ago and pick it up and put it down often. Easy and low mantinence I go for mini (dwarf?) conifers as they are green all year round and need very little in upkeep.

Google the difference between annuals and perennials too. If in doubt go to a garden centre and buy some plants already flowering and ask for their advice.

Succulents are cool as they require little in the way of upkeep.

Planting herbs is nice and easy and stuff like thyme flower really prettily if left alone.

Start simple and build your knowledge and good luck!!
