YourOnMute · 06/04/2025 12:48

This is the best news ever! I'm in the EU but hope it comes here!

flyinghen · 07/04/2025 12:12

Just TESCO from what I can see, we don’t shop there or have one close! Nooooo!

Nsws2015 · 07/04/2025 12:19

I saw it on their FB page the other day and it says coop and boots too, I will be going on the hunt or sending hubs to Tesco as he passes it as I'm desperate! Had the WORST dry split sore lips a few weeks back and this was the only stuff that helped, I was rationing my supplies as I have 1.5 tubes (although my kids may have some as I know I gave them a tube each....silly me!). Even considered the stupid £70+ ebay prices when my lips were bad.

ParadiseLaundry · 07/04/2025 12:20

Yes! I'm really going to stock up this time.

Nsws2015 · 07/04/2025 12:20

Larger stores apparently but 🤞🤞 for us all on the hunt!

The manufacturer, DDD, went into administration. It remains to be seen whether this version manufactured by someone else will be equally efficacious.

Important side note: after running low on my emergency Blistex supply (I keep several just in case), I did a little more digging about what it is fixing. Many people use Blistex as the only thing that seems to fix the sore splits that seasonally turn up in the corner of the mouth or at the edge of the nostril. That's why I use Blistex; it fixes what I thought must be a type of cold sore in a couple of days. Well, it turns out that other help may be on hand. I now suspect this condition is actually ANGULAR CHEILITIS (Google it), which is either a fungal or bacterial infection and not a type of cold sore (herpes simplex).

I tried clotrimazole (Cannesten) for a couple of days, but that did nothing. So, I tried terbinafine hydrochloride (a common athlete's foot treatment), and my sore healed in 48 hours.

In short, it's fantastic if Blistex is truly returning to the shelves in the same form as before, but it may be worth considering a commonly available antifungal and/or antibacterial remedy if the source of the problem is actually angular cheilitis. :-)

At last! Nothing else even comes close.
