Struggle to spend money

I can’t tell if this is normal or not?!

ive been quite bad with money in the past. Not crazy but ended up a few grand on a credit card, no savings etc. To get me out of poor habits I essentially went completely the other way, and now struggle to spend money on anything ‘big’.

Ive recently landed a new job so money is no longer a problem (altho pension needs some work) and have small children who I want to show the world / give experiences if I can but then it comes to actually booking and I panic and don’t go through with it?

prime example is I want to do a long weekend at centre parcs near Christmas. Can I afford it? Absolutely but I just cannot bring myself to book it…

Should I relax a little or actually is my mindset fine?

Can you maybe set yourself a monthly budget for fun family spending? Obviously numbers will depend on what you can afford but say you put £200 a month into a pot and once its reached enough for centre parks/trips to the zoo/day at the beach/meal out you then go and book it.
