5 year old DD just not getting wiping..

I have been showing her how to do it since she was a lot younger. I do help her wipe when she’s at home, but sometimes I get her to do it.

it’s fine when she doesn’t go at school of course but today for example she went at school and he underwear is so dirty.

how do I teach her to do it properly? Is it normal that she’s just not getting it ? Do I need to completely stop helping her at home ? Any advice welcome.

I'm presuming it's when she poos? My DS was the same because he didn't like to spend too long in the bathrooms when he could be going out to play with his friends. I ended up sending him with some wipes and that sped the process up so he ended up clean.

It takes a while OP. My two 7yr olds still aren’t great. It’s an awkward angle and everyone has a messy poo sometimes that is a challenge!

Assuming you aren't a poo troll....

Don't send in wipes, they'll end up down the toilet and cause a blockage.

Practice and encouragement (and patience!)

As they get older they get better at cleaning up and tend to 💩 less at school.

Tell her she has to wipe until one comes back clean/with nothing on it

Give her a pocket size pack of flushable wet wipes, they make travel size ones the size of a small tissue packet.

I don't know how any children/adults manage to clean properly without wet wipes, even if you use wads of loo roll how does the dry paper cleanse properly unless the poo is unhealthily hard??
