Can we ban hiring Airbnb?

Big birthday night out.

Over a hundred quid per person just for the Airbnb. But that’s not the final cost, as if anybody decides they can’t/won’t make it, the price is pushed even higher.

Also, it’s a big birthday night out. Why do we need a nice place to get ready? Over a hundred quid to get ready and predrink. We might as well get ready before we go out, and the price difference between the nice Airbnb and travel lodge we can afford to not predrink, and get nice cocktails out. Oh, and everyone is expected to share a bed as all beds are doubles.

Also, I cannot just say to the organiser ‘sorry would rather not be involved in the airbnb as I’m going to save myself £70 by sleeping down the road’ as everybody else will end up paying my share.

Maybe I’m just being a Scrooge and should just go along with it.

If people say they'll be going at the time of booking, the person doing the booking should take the money there and then and explain that it's not refundable.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Can we ban hiring airbnb"?

If you don't want to stay in one then don't agree to.
