My car vandelised

On Saturday I took my baby out to the zoo with partner. We parked at our local station from 10am till 8pm so long day! When we got back we was surprised to my car had been vandalised with my windows deliberately smashed and several other cars! We all come back at the same time weirdly enough, and the station didn’t care at all and didn’t seem shocked about it. We called police (non emergency) and they said because we was parked at station so long there’s nothing they can do?! Just to add, I got my DP to move the car as I was worried incase the boys come back and done more damage and we caught a lady who told us the same happened to her, the police found the boys and they dropped it all?! I don’t understand why this isn’t being taken more seriously

Unfortunately the police could not be less interested in helping ordinary people with actual crime.
A similar thing happened to me in the middle of the afternoon when I parked at a local station car park. There was CCTV and everything. They just gave me a crime number and told me to claim on insurance.
They can send 6 police officers to arrest parents for whatsapp messages though.

Sadly there will be signs saying that cars are parked at your own risk.

Its because the police can't be bothered and in their defence, because the criminal justice system is useless. I would be the same. What's the point in investigations/arrests when there will be no consequences, just a load of wasted effort.
