Fake Missoma on Vinted?

Anyone else noticed lots of Missoma jewellery on Vinted that are being sold at low prices by unreviewed sellers? Presumably these are fakes - how bad would it be to go for it?

I love the look of Missoma but as it’s essentially fancy costume jewellery and I have a tendency to lose my jewellery, I can’t justify the prices. If it arrived and was clearly fake and awful quality would there be any protection from Vinted?

Vinted is FULL of fakes particularly in the higher end goods. I own an Isabel Marant bag & i see fake versions being sold for lots of money all the time! When you know what a real one + its packaging looks like its v easy to spot the fakes

I have seen fakes with alleged vinted authentication attached. Could be authentication for anything at all.

Same with receipts - one actual item bought- receipt used to flog fakes

Vinted is full of fakes. I am a Zimmermann aficionado and i see fake versions pretty much every day.

I didn't really know the selling of fakes was rife on Vinted. At least I know now. Lesson learned. It looked the same but Missoma was not engraved on the back of the pendant as it should be. I'll be more cautious in future. It's in the hands of the customer service team, and the seller's account is blocked.

There are some real rogues out there. It's infuriating. I should have known it was too good to be true. :(

I didn't realise there would be Missoma dupes. I bought a Missoma necklace on Vinted ..it was labelled as Missoma but it is 10cm longer then it should be and the colour seems a bit off. I should not have accepted the item but I wasn't sure it wasn't genuine at the time. V annoyed!

I don't see the point of buying a fake of something that isn't even high end in the first place.

It's against their rules to sell counterfeit goods, so I would assume you'd have protection if the seller can't prove it's authenticity

Youd think but if you raise an issue its fake once youve bought it vinted put it on you to prove its fake not on the seller to prove its genuine

Mine wasn't inscribed with Missoma on the pendant as the same item was on the Missoma website. I ended up getting a refund.

Yes, I provided photos of mine and photos of the one on the Missoma website. The one on the website was engraved with 'Missoma' on the reverse of the pendant. Mine wasn't. I got a refund in the end.

What’s to stop a sender from sending a genuine branded necklace and a scammer taking photos of a counterfeit item and saying that’s what they received?

The scammer then sends back the counterfeit and Vinted refund the buyer so that the seller has been swindled out of her genuine necklace and is now left with a counterfeit one?

That's a good point. I wonder if that has ever happened. I suppose the seller would then have to appeal. In my case, I noticed that my account was blocked as soon as I bought the item. When I searched the internet it led me to this thread about fake Missoma jewellery being sold on there. When I appealed to Vinted about my account being blocked, they unblocked it and apologised. It seems that the seller had already been flagged and the algorithm blocked me too. So her account muust have been suspicious. When the item turned up a few days later, it was indeed fake. The seller's account is still blocked.

Me neither. That's why I was so annoyed. I suppose the only way you really know for sure if something is definitely real is by buying it direct from the manufacturer/retailer.
