My statutory maternity pay is coming to an end shortly and I am hoping to use some keeping in touch days. I work in hospitality so open weekends and bank holidays. I won’t be returning to this job due to a number of reasons (too outing to write here) but I’m in need of some extra cash so I’m going to write an email to my employer asking if using kit days are a possibility. How do I ask to only work weekends and bank holidays etc (due to childcare issues)

I hope you're well.

As my statutory maternity pay is coming to an end soon, I wanted to ask whether there might be any opportunities to make use of some Keeping in Touch (KIT) days. I’d really appreciate the chance to pick up a few shifts if possible.

Due to current childcare arrangements, I’m only available to work weekends and bank holidays, but I’d be happy to help out during those times if there’s any need.
