just curious, I am a single mother of two boys age 6 and 7, I haven't heard from there dad in years he's just disappeared so I get no help. My 7 year old is with cahms being assessed for adhd and autism, they said he has it 100% but still going through the process, he had a qb test last week. He is with a paediatric for eating disorders and stomach issues, he has an echp plan as he is so behind in school, a continence nurse as he cannot go to the toilet or sit on a toilet he fears it, he stool withholds and wears pull ups and soils him self all day, I have sent all this info of appointments etc to the dla in December his pull ups and wipes and special dietary requirements cost me an Arm and a leg I dont know what dla is and didnt really want to apply because I know the government are in enough finical crisis. but I so need help I can't take it anymore im living off pennies im struggling so much. how much do you think he may get if awarded, I put on form that im up all night caring for him as he soils through the night and shakes after stool withholding all day, his currently on pediasure for his dietary needs and on movical for a disimpaction because of the stool withholding, its so hard :'( ive been to early help and add up charities for help with his conditions and adhd as he has outbursts.

If you are caring for him at night as well as in the day hopefully you will get the high rate care component which is 110 a week, not sure about mobility. My son gets middle rate care and low rate mobility and I get 404 a month for him. If they award you a lower rate you can apply for a mandatory reconsideration, I did and got my dons senco to write a supporting letter about my don only managing to ho to school until 1pm due to him not eating, drinking and having to have a 1:1

If they reject it, definitely go to the appeal. My dc have various needs and I had a huge pile of evidence and they still rejected my initial claim. I went to appeal and was successful. My dc all get different rates and I can’t remember exactly which criteria which child gets, as the awarding seemed very random, but sounds like you should be on higher care and probably mid/high mobility. Good luck.

sounds like he has significant day care needs and night care needs which should be high rate rate. It's all a bit of a lottery so be prepared to appeal esp with the first claim. In my experience, DLA is often rejected in a first claim so an MR or even appeal is needed. there is a world between what one should get and what many do get. Just don't give up. The system works by rejecting people and hoping the they fight back.
