Has anyone been caught out by the clocks going forward?

Luckily I have nothing important to do today, just relaxing in bed with dd

Woke up looking for something to watch until '10am' when Sunday brunch starts

I flick through and it's already on

I'm like 'what, what's going on?' Then I realise 🤭

Didn’t you look at the time on your phone?

Fupoffyagrasshole · 30/03/2025 10:32

Up half the night with my baby boy and the clock changed in front of my eyes 🥲 then I was just sitting there thinking oh great now his day and routine is going to be all skewed by an hour and I’m gonna get even less sleep 🤪🤪

BlueMum16 · 30/03/2025 10:32

I thought most clocks automatically update these days so the minute I look at my phone or devices I see the time

TwentyTwentyFive · 30/03/2025 10:33

I think it's pretty hard to get caught out these days because most things automatically change the time for you so I'd be surprised to hear of someone not knowing the clocks had changed.

Dweetfidilove · 30/03/2025 10:34

Even my radio resets itself, so no 😊.

FidosMum84 · 30/03/2025 10:34

Yes! New bedroom alarm clock bought recently and I now know it doesn’t update….

Nobiggerthanyourhand · 30/03/2025 10:34

I have been totally bamboozled by it. The kids have missed their swimming lessons.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 30/03/2025 10:35

I've got an alarm clock that sits right in front of the tv - so it has to be changed manually

And literally the first thing I did was switch on the tv - it was only when I saw the tv clock that I realised 😅

Oh bless you - I think i remember this happening when dd turned 1, but it was during the pandemic so didn't matter

Fingers crossed for some rest for you 💕

We once went to view a house for sale when the clocks had changed. The lady was really nice but was shocked we had arrived what she thought was early! We didn't have the heart to tell her ❤️

LilyCandelabra · 30/03/2025 10:46

When DD was a baby we were on the wrong time until Monday afternoon, only realising when the programme I always watched for her late afternoon breastfeed confusingly wasn't on. Rang DP to come home from work as he should've already finished and we only later realised he must have been an hour late that morning without anyone noticing!

DinoLil · 30/03/2025 10:53

I was doing okay with the time change on my phone until I put my watch on and thought wtf?!

Solmum1964 · 30/03/2025 11:07

We're on holiday but set my phone alarm for 8.30 to get ready for breakfast.
DH is normally a very early riser but had slept through till the alarm went off and questioned what time it was as he thought he'd changed his watch last night.
Will probably be caught out when we get home as several clocks will need changing, including the alarm clock!

Springee · 30/03/2025 11:09

I remembered earlier in the day, but not at bedtime. We leave our phones downstairs and use alarm clocks so didn't realise until we got up. Doesn't matter especially as nothing planned until 3 ish.

Mydogisamassivetwat · 30/03/2025 11:11

I never notice. I just wake up and look at the time on my phone which has changed.

To be honest, if I hadn’t woken up and looked on mumsnet, I would never have known (and yes, I do have children it’s never, ever caused an issue even when they were babies).

PigletJohn · 30/03/2025 11:12

Not me, I'm a volunteer and spent the night moving the stones to Summer Time. Just finishing now.

I totally forgot that was today. Our oven is going to be correct for the next 6 months 🥳 🙌

Was out dancing last night and was shocked looking at my phone and it was 2:15am! DH saw my confusion and explained..

This reminds me of when my Godson was having a party. He's an October birthday. It was just as well I knew what time it was when I arrived early to help as they didn't 🤣

Busyquaver1 · 30/03/2025 11:14

I woke at normal time 9ish an questioned alexa as to if the clocks had gone forward or not so no not affected me.

It’s absolutely brilliant though if you are working a night shift and the clock jumps forward an hour ! Always the best shift ever .

Same with my car clock 😉

borntobequiet · 30/03/2025 11:19

It’s always forward on the last Sunday in March. And back on the last Sunday in October. So not too hard to remember.

KimberleyClark · 30/03/2025 11:23

The clock in my car is now correct It’s an hour fast the rest of the year.
