To ask if tanning tablets work and are safe?

I have horrible red marks that look like burns on the backs of my hands and arms due to an autoimmune disease and I’m very self conscious about them.

I’m wearing long sleeves but know this will make me hot and uncomfortable when the weather warms up as I’m also going through the menopause 😩

I went to a party a few weeks ago and used fake tan and it made them much less visible but I hate the smell of it and it never looks natural on hands or feet so has anyone used the tanning tablets/capsules and are there any side affects that you found?

I’m not a vain person at all but this is really getting me down and I would feel more confident with a bit of colour.

Melanotan-2, which is the ingredient in at least some of these products, is not thoroughly tested and has been linked to some people who have developed cancer, sometimes really rapidly.

Sprays and injections containing "melanotan-2" may lead to cancer, doctors tell a BBC News investigation.

No. They are not safe. You feel self conscious now, but you'll feel a whole lot worse if you get a horrible disease and end up dying because of a superficial thing. Look it's hard but you might just have to wear your scars/imperfections with pride and be grateful that you have your health

Thanks for this, mentions injections and sprays rather than tablets but I’ll research it a bit more.

Good point, I just wondered if there were some with natural ingredients that didn’t have side effects.

Im so pale i look like caspers sister with ears.
I also have red blotches on my skin.
I dont tan in the sun like others i just go pink.
However i wouldn't use tanning pills or sunbeds.
Over time i just come to terms that is just how my skin is and love it.
The more we except ourselves and care less what others think we shine.
So love yourselve even the the bits you dont like its part of you.
When your done loving upon yourself u let others love upon on.
Op you have nothing to be conscious about own it work with it love it.
Look in the mirror and tell yourself loudly someones looking FABULOUS and you are.
I do it all the time my pale pink blotchy skin is gorgeous im in fear of getting men pregnant.
Although i look like an old paper bag.
But if we don't t love us how can we let others love us.
So pucker up and own it op you dont need fancy products and fake pills you are already gorgeous.

A few weeks of this you may need a restraining order against yourself.
Dont forget to stay FABULOUS.
