Influences - the skincare “glow”

Not sure if I’m being a bit mean or a bit stupid (or why I care really 😆) but it’s something I’ve wondered for a while.

I often see influences or the online selling type people advertising skincare and coming up close to the camera moving their head from side to size saying “ohhh look at that glow”.

I keep thinking when you’ve just applied something it always looks like that straight away. I mean I could put cooking oil on my face and I’d have a glow. Surely it isn’t an indication of how good the product is??

Plus standing in front of a ring light and a filter on the camera adding to the glow!

Omg OP i am with you!!!

Firstly - yes.. all wet products will shine on your face.

Secondly..I don't want to go about my day reflecting light off my face because my skin is glowly 🤣. I don't get why anyone wants a shiny face?
