... It might well be by now, I'm a bit stunned to be honest.

Fucking animals but as a society we tolerate that stuff these days. There will have been minimal consequences in these kids lives up to this point and that will continue to be the case.

I still don't see anything about it on the front pages. This is vile.

The Mirror, London Evening Standard and the Mail reported on it. Nothing on the BBC/Guardian/Independent as they probably don't deem it newsworthy.

How a group of youths descending with alcohol, machetes, and balloon gas canisters isn't newsworthy, is beyond me.

It happens so often though.

Teenager has a party, some idiot puts it on social media and the gate crashing begins.

This was a particularly nasty and scary one though.

The balloon gas canisters they were talking about, I routinely find them on the roads around the areas where I walk my dog. It used to be the little silver canisters until they were banned.

Aw, just the young people expressing themselves isn't it? Can't say "no" to them as they'll be traumatised 🙄

It's interesting watching the mainstream media news cycle now I know how it works.

There was an similar situation that happened around a macdonalds near me, on Saturday. 30 young men were involved. All white, you wouldn't know it happened. The Macdonalds in Liverpool city center has had to ban under 16s, every branch has security guards and Police circling. Teens stabbing each other is an everyday occurrence and not news worthy, regardless of colour. Read the Metro the story is on, knife crime, after knife crime.

EmeraldRoulette · 25/03/2025 00:38

I didn't know about this particular incident.
When I was living in London, this kind of thing was constant. I'm sure it happens all over the country.

It just isn't the sort of thing that would make national news. It happens too often.

I don't think anyone reported on that Southend machete incident last year. Usually I find this kind of stuff out from Twitter but these days I don't bother to click on anything happening because I try and stay in my local area - and it would be on the WhatsApp group quick enough if anything happened here.

When I left my London neighbourhood, the following week I had a message from a neighbour saying "I've just walked past another police tape/tent yhing due to a stabbing and I can't even be bothered to find out what happened. Does this make me a bad person" and I said "no." so many parts of the country are just used to it now.

McDonald's gets targeted, I think. I know two people who had to stop working there because it was just ridiculous.

LBC had it, and the Metro which is daily fail lite. They're so young and behaving like this. Teen rage is off the charts, but that's not new.
