I’m in England at the moment. We’ve got some lovely sausages, bacon and egg. I just want a lovely Scottish roll to put them in.

Like a 'glasgow roll' or a well fired one??

ohyesido · 23/03/2025 21:22

As in a nearly burnt bap you could use as a frisbee?

Aaron95 · 23/03/2025 21:23

You have good sausage? Where did you get square sausage from?

The sort of roll you can buy at a garage or butcher’s.

A morning roll?
A crispy roll?

Claireshh · 23/03/2025 21:25

Oh they are so lovely!

Swanlake98 · 23/03/2025 21:35

@derxa
This won’t fix your current roll emergency, but if you’re trapped in England you might want to get baking your own morning rolls so you’re self sufficient.
This recipe is fab

Co-op stores usually sell them in the bakery section as a 4 pack.

Lavender2015 · 23/03/2025 21:48

Why on earth wouldn’t they sell these in England?!?

Arglefraster · 23/03/2025 21:50

A Morning roll?

TheLadyIsAVamp · 23/03/2025 21:53

Scottish person living in England, I order mine online from a Scottish butchers whilst stocking up on tattie scones, square sausage and scotch pies. Mortons rolls are the best ones though and I can't find them online 😔

Lidl bakery! They do morning rolls. Couldn’t believe it when I saw them!

TheLadyIsAVamp · 23/03/2025 21:59

Normal morning rolls/scotch rolls in supermarkets just aren't the same at all.

I have a Morton’s roll recipe I use if you would like it.

I would love this recipe please 🙏

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 10/07/2025 08:20

CoOp sell them. So does Morrisons sometimes (think it depends on who the baker is that day).

HotCrossBunplease · 10/07/2025 08:22

100% must be chewy! I haven’t lived in Scotland for 30 years and I still miss them!
I particularly like well fired ones.

You can't get a proper Scottish morning roll in England. They're just not the same.

NippyNinjaCrab · 10/07/2025 08:57

I'm in Scotland but the Co-op sell lovely morning rolls. Morrisons at the bakery where they sell the pick n mix rolls but they go quickly, here anyway.
