What's on your bucket list?

I've been very depressed for the last year or two and finally feel I've came out of the other side of it. I'm starting to find joy in my life and getting excited about things again. I made a list of things I wanted to do in 2025 and I'm about to tick the biggest one off in a few days and didn't think it would happen so soon, if at all. I feel so excited and giddy and like I'm remembering my old self. I want to make a more formal bucket list to give myself things to work towards so just wanted to ask what's on yours?

Do a headstand. Paint a self portrait. Go wild swimming. Travel to a european capitol city that I've not been to before. Camp in a bothy. Write a will. Do some litter picking.

visit Pompei - which I’m doing in May finally!

Glad you’re feeling much better OP. Can you share what you are going to do in a few days?

Here are some of mine -

Own a palm tree
Visit a volcano
Visit Iceland
Get a hair braid
See a turtle in the wild
See the Northern Lights
Own a denim jacket
Go whale watching
Drive Route 66
Get a tattoo
Pay off my student loan
Pan for gold
Do glass blowing
Watch some ballet live

I’m lucky to have completed some of them.

Glad you are feeling better OP. I don’t have a bucket list though - I think laying on the sofa with a glass of wine, fire lit and a good book is my truest form of happiness.

Oh you have a few great ones on there I'd like to add to mine! I'm going to New York! I've never been to America so it feels like a big deal and grew up seeing it on TV, just feel so excited!

Swim in the Hampstead Ladies Pond
Visit Japan
Run the Athens Classic Marathon
Run the Big Sur Marathon
Go back to Iceland (stunning)
Take my kids to the Globe Theatre
See various European cities that I haven't visited yet - Brussels, Vienna, Salzburg, Dubrovnik etc
Read through that massive tbr list (I'm dyslexic so, that'll keep me busy for years)

Enjoy OP - we went to NY on our honeymoon, and we loved it. Very exciting - have a wonderful time!

It's wonderful to hear that you've perked up, OP! Mental health issues are a real drag, but it's so uplifting when you turn that corner and the world starts to become interesting and exciting again.

Travelling might be fun. I'd like to visit another continent, as I've never left Europe, but it would be just as interesting to visit a lot of the little islands around the UK. It's not quite New York, but as I found Manchester city centre a bit much, I think I'd be OK with that!

It would be nice to master my favourite musical instruments, and to learn everything that interests me. I'd try my hand at more arty things, and be able to make some of my own clothes. I'd like to grow most of my own fruits and vegetables. I'd like to buy my own home and perhaps a car that is a bit fancier and more grown-up than my current one (a sporty, student-type first car).

The luxury version of the trans-siberian...geopolitical events have got in the way though.

I don't think you really realise how bad things had gotten until things start to feel good again, if that makes sense! We all like different things and that sounds like a great bucket list ☺️

It's wonderful. It's huge. Wear comfy shoes and sun protection, and be prepared with wipes and hand sanitiser in your bag, as when I was there the toilets left a lot to be desired.....probably not as good as the original Pompeiian ones were!
