Small age gap between babies and then go part time?

I was just wondering what others have done or if this is crazy thinking. We initially wanted a 3-5 year age gap, reason being to enjoy the baby years with each and have DD be a bit older and able to understand.

I have now decided I want to return to work part time as I can’t imagine being at work more than I am with my baby… but this decision will of course impact my future maternity pay. Has anyone TTC at the end of their maternity leave or just after going back with this being one of the main reasons for doing so?

I went back to work part time and was pregnant with dd2 within a couple of weeks.

id go back full time now and just get on with it , then go part time after dc2.

This is why I went back full time after our first, so I still got the maximum maternity pay I could second time round.

It meant I could enjoy my second maternity leave without worrying (too much anyway) about money. There's 2.5 years between them so I was back full time for about 18 months.

I've now gone back 4 days so I still get a midweek day off with them and that's working well.

Stick to 1 and go live your life! You've got much more choice then

I went back 5 months pregnant, was not popular :-)

Then I went back part time for 2 years then fell pregnant with my youngest. I have to say the smaller gap was much easier for me.
