To think second baby would be quicker?

First baby I was induced at around 9pm at 40 weeks with a pessary, quick contractions and baby was born 16 hours later.
This time around, I’m 38+4 and got induced again 9pm last night. It’s a new style of pessary, it’s a slow release gel they can remove. I was hoping to have woken up with contractions like I did with my first, but nothing apart from a few cramps. With my first I was in the thick of contractions by this time. I’m so disappointed. What can I do? Did anything work for you guys?

Laboured 31hrs with my first.

38hrs with my second.

Good luck!

I don’t think I had as many or as severe contractions second time around - induced both times. Fingers crossed it gets moving for you soon!!

No!

My first was induced on Saturday at 40 weeks dead on and didn't come til Wednesday.

Second was induced on Wednesday at 38 weeks and came Sunday.

Babies do not like to leave my body which is one on the many reasons I'll be not doing that again!!

At 38+4 you might take longer to start.
It took the drip to get any movement in my inductions. Am sure they will offer a next step soon.
