In not understanding the KFC

Adverts, I have tried but they don’t make sense.
I have started to wonder if that’s the aim??

I feel like I must be missing something now...

Advert FOMO!

I don't get the TUI spinsters (hah!) spinsters oh ffs sponsors Married At First Sight ones...

JanglingJack · 19/03/2025 18:36

What happens in the KFC ones? Yep, it's just me that's invested now 😂

Sminty2 · 19/03/2025 18:37

I rarely get any advertising but I absolutely love the low key but camp bitchiness of Stephen and Bruno, in an advert for Italian food.

Redhairandhottubs · 19/03/2025 18:37

Ha! Yes we were saying this night! The man dipped in a lake comes out as a piece of battered chicken??

Samcro · 19/03/2025 18:37

I can’t even describe it as it makes no sense 🤷‍♀️

Crispynoodle · 19/03/2025 18:38

It’s very weird indeed! Chicken!

Littletreefrog · 19/03/2025 18:38

I think they have done what they set out to do. We are discussing KFC when we wouldn't otherwise be doing so.

Cunningfungus · 19/03/2025 18:39

@Samcro - do you mean the one with the people sort of dancing weirdly with the giant chicken on the plinth in the middle? I was just saying to my DC that it freaks me out!!! They’re like zombies which I have a pathological fear of lol.

(search “believe in chicken” on YouTube to see it).

But as they say - no such thing as bad publicity!

Huh?

Uh?

Eh?

Haven't seen it.

I’m pretty sure the lake is gravy.

I love the Bruno and Stephen adverts

TrixieFatell · 19/03/2025 18:41

It makes me want to have KFC gravy

OP posts:
PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 19/03/2025 18:45

I like them. They're subversive and make me watch. I don't eat meat, but they worked on me - I want my KFC birth and baptism!

I love the Bruno and Stephen adverts

Bruno and Stephen get quoted often in this house " I didn't know we had a rota Stephen" whenever anyone is asked to do a job.

JanglingJack · 19/03/2025 19:53

Samcro · 19/03/2025 18:42

Where are you people seeing this freaky shit? 🤣

I don't get it either.

Honeyroar · 19/03/2025 19:54

Isn’t it chicken-humans catching and cooking normal humans? I find it a bit creepy. But yes, it’s meant to get us talking!

Samcro · 19/03/2025 19:56

😬🫨

PositivityVibes · 19/03/2025 19:58

We love to guess the advert, initially we guessed perfume/aftershave as they’re always random. KFC was a curveball!

Absolutely love Bruno & Stephen 💞

fluorescenttricenarian · 19/03/2025 20:01

I want a zinger tower box meal now with a gravy as the side, 2 extra hot wings for 99p and a milky bar Krushem

Rather oddly, I don't understand what the advert is advertising in that lovely one where the two young men are swinging over a city landscape, and a man is singing "the first time ever I saw your face" but I love it. I watch television using wireless headphones and turn them off during adverts. But I turn them back on for this .

Though the singer isn't a patch on the original.

Nowvoyager99 · 19/03/2025 20:07

I don’t get it either.

The advert I am currently muting within seconds of starting is the bloody awful car one where they talk incessantly about “Familying”

It makes me want to smash things up.

I think that's a gambling company. I'm not sure I know what the meaning is - possibly you can still have fun when you're a grown up. The song doesn't really fit with that though, so I'm probably miles off the mark.

SpidersAreShitheads · 19/03/2025 20:15

YES!!!!

I was so confused by this advert.

Why is his body all weirdly stiff when she dips him into the gravy lake? And why does he come out like a chicken strip?

DP reckons the dipped body is supposed to be a hot wing because there would be bones inside.

I don't understand this. If anything, it feels like a vegetarian charity would be making as it puts me off eating meat (and I say that as someone is very definitely not a vegetarian at all!).

The KFC one in the town I sort of get because the throngs of people are acting like chickens with a flock mentality.

@user1471453601 I don't understand that advert either but I am weirdly obsessed by watching it every time it comes on! The song is beautifully covered and hynotically soothing.

Yes I thought the same about it not really being a great ad for eating meat!
