Random phone call on my sons mobile

My 10 year old son doesnt take his mobile to school so today a woman called him from this number 01294 620096 called him and I answered and they were calling his by his full name when I asked who she is and what she wanted she dropped the phone. I cant work out who they are I tried to google should I report it to the police? Please advise I asked my son if he ever talks to someone that we dont know he said no.

Have you called the number back or googled it?

Have you checked his internet history to see if he, or other siblings/family members, have been up to no good?

I would get your facts straight before calling the police.

It probably was a scam so just block the number. The police haven't the resources to deal with a non abusive caller who simply asked for a person's name then hung up.

It's a scam marketing number if you Google it. It uses an Adrossan number but that isn't genuine. Best to block it.

Register the number of TPS to reduce scam calls, and just keep blocking any other numbers.

Both my children's phones get scam calls, I tell them to block any number that is not in their phone already.
