Do you think it is a good idea to give a donation to your own charity fundraiser? Context - collecting money via a gofundme type website in preparation for a fundraising event you will be taking part in
YABU - you should donate something
YANBU - you are already doing the activity so no need to donate

If you can afford to donate something then do - it’s all for a charity that you support, why wouldn’t you? I often do fundraisers through my business. I always round up the totals.

Are you secretly the one who doesn’t want to donate?

youngstupid · 18/03/2025 21:27

@Plopplopplop03 I don't appreciate these sorts of comments, thank you.

Surely you would donate? Even if it's just at the end to round it up.

Of course I’d donate. If it was a cause I cared enough about to set up an entire fundraiser I’d be donating what I could.

I've set up a couple of Just Givings for things I have done. I normally donate the minimum amount needed to participate because I feel it's unfair to ask others to pay for this as it's essentially the cost of taking part then I ask for others to contribute on top of this.

Yes. If it’s for a charity. If you don’t believe in the cause why should anyone else?
